Email Settings & Signature

A few minutes in Settings > Profile makes every email you send from Laminar look right and behave the way you expect.

Under Email Signature, click Edit Signature. The editor is rich text, and the Insert merge field menu lets you drop in placeholders that fill themselves in: full name, job title, phone number, email address, and firm name.

Merge fields resolve when the email is composed, so one signature stays correct even if your title changes. The firm name resolves from the matter the email is sent on, which matters if you work across more than one firm. Fields you haven’t filled in on your profile simply render blank.

Once saved, the signature is added automatically to new emails you compose in Laminar.

Send delay gives you an undo window. Set it to a few seconds and every send shows a countdown with an Undo button before the email actually leaves. The number of times this saves you from a half-finished sentence or a missing attachment is embarrassing but real. “No delay” sends immediately.

Default From address sets which address the composer starts with.

Filing confirmation emails controls whether you get a confirmation email when something you forwarded or BCC’d into Laminar is successfully filed (see Receiving Email). Turn it on while you’re building the forwarding habit; turn it off once you trust the system.
